Is Your Brand Part of the Text Tide?

Texting is more popular than calling with mobile device users and short codes are also competing with email. Consumers are using text and mobile technologies and want to do business this way with their favorite brands. A new study conducted by Harris Interactive for credit card security firm Billing Revolution is the latest evidence. Harris surveyed 2,029 adults from April 29 to May 1, 2009 and found 93% or 1,883 of those surveyed were mobile device owners. Almost half of these cell phone users reported shopping via their mobile device is “somewhat safe.”
Of those who would be willing to make mobile purchases, (75%) would be willing to buy entertainment items, such as movie/event tickets (58%), music (41%), mobile video or TV content (24%) and games (34%). Other mobile purchase categories include food/drink items (68%) such as pizza (59%), fast food (42%), and/or coffee (25%), and over half (55%) would be willing to purchase hotel rooms (43%) and/or tickets for travel (40%) this way according to the Harris survey.Find out how to get started in mobile.
